What is the non-technical founder problem?

In short, you don’t know what you don’t know. If you’ve been thinking about an app idea for some time, but you haven’t actually started on it, it can feel very overwhelming. Very understandable! The world of technology is changing rapidly, it can be difficult for someone on the inside to keep up with it, let alone someone who is starting at the beginning with basically nothing.

How do you get up to speed?

There is a raft of problems that you need to come up to speed with quickly.

  1. What do all the words mean?
  2. How do I talk about my idea in a way a developer would understand me?
  3. How do I understand the developer?
  4. What is a good rate to pay on the project?
  5. How much time is the project going to take?
  6. What platform should I build on?
  7. How do I measure early success and learn from the project?

As you can imagine, these questions are only scratching the surface. I’m sure if you’ve thought of an app or a website for any amount of time you’ve thought of these and many others.
